Preparation Instructions:
I would like to thank Kevin of Newburyport Massachusetts for sending us this Dutch oven peach cobbler recipe. To get started, please take out a cast iron Dutch oven. Add three cans of sliced peaches with syrup to the oven, then add three cans of drained sliced peaches into it. Moving along, next evenly pour both boxes of white cake mix over the top of the peaches, but do not mix the ingredients together. Next cut the butter into small pea size clumps, and then dot the cake mix with them. Next place a lid over the top of the Dutch oven, and then carefully set it near a hot coal bed or over a campfire. Next you will want to place hot coals on the top of the Dutch oven lid, which is an essential step. After roughly twenty minutes has gone by, turn your oven one hundred and eighty degrees, just to make sure it bakes evenly. After another twenty minutes has expired, check inside of the oven to see if the dessert is done. Once your cobbler is bubbly, and the peaches have caramelized, remove it from the heat to cool down. It's important to note that you do not want to allow your oven to turn red hot at any time during the baking process, as the cobbler will burn. That concludes this unique recipe, we hope you enjoyed it.
